i followed a crash diet called GM diet which is for a complete week. however i lost only 1 kg... i was quite dissappointd. these crash diets r not usually recommended as u loose a lotta energy due to lack of proper nutrition and feel tired by the end of the day.
    then i followed this :
Breakfast : (1) Morning after u wake up drink 2 glasses of luke warm lime water
    (2) after 30 - 45 min have kellogs corn flakes(plain)
Lunch : (1) soak sprouts overnight and boil it and cook it with salt, curry leaves,
    red chillies and little onions.
    (OR)
    (2) have 3 chapati's with some sabzi (take care that the sabzi doesnt have
too much of oil and masala.
(I USUALLY HAVE THESE ON ALTERNATE DAYS - ONE DAY SPROUTS AND THE OTHER DAY I HAVE CHAPATIS)

Dinner : Few carrots and purple grapes (very less in calories)

Everyday i followed only this diet and i lost 4 kg in 2 weeks and my target is to lose 13 kg in 3 months. In this rate i think i can really achieve that.
Always use only 1 or 2 spoons of oil for any preparation. At first it is difficult is what we think but its not.
Take a lotta fibre food in ur diet which cuts down a lotta cholestrol.
have cucumbers also for dinner if u dont lik carrots. have an apple or some pomegranate.. try a variety of fruits for dinner. Always try to keep ur dinner v light.

Along with this i'm walkin in my treadmill for 5 km i.e. nearly 1 hr @ 5km/hr on alternate days.
I'm not feeling hungry after this diet or im not craving for any delicious food, im not feelin tired for the whole day.
Try this and see the diff. this is gud on a long run.. once u think u have mastered the way ur body reduces, then try on diff food or even heavy ones but exercise appropriately. take all ur body weight and measurements and monitor it everyday.
