If one doesn't drink much, they may be subconsciously driven to eat more to reach required amount of water.So try to drink a glass of water every hour which can help in prevent over eating.
Other options to increase water intake are like having fruits which are rich in water content, add more of juices, buttermilk, soups, tender coconut, herbal tea, fresh vegetables.
Try to take vegetables in different forms like soup or steamed vegetables.
