    @senthil ganesh,
    That is good.....ur first event and did a good job....knee pain as u mentioned it stops once u start walking....if that is the case u dnt hv to worry much....most Important aspect what u need to remember is u need to STRENGTHEN ur knee.....u can do that in two ways ONE is STRETCHING after every workout.....TWO is knee exercise with weight....Leg extention....one more without weight [sit on a chair......knee should come to the edge of the chair.....from knee u lift the leg up....upto horizontal to the ground and then bring it back.....like that do 20 times each leg...] this helps in strengthening of the knee....
    10k run u really dnt need build ur endurance may be u can focus on pace/speed....keep all ur practice runs to 6 or 7 kms....focus on speed....
    If possible introduce 1 or 2 days per week to strength training [working with weights] and 1 day HIIT [High Intensity Interval Training]
    Let me know ur progress.....and if u hv any uncleared doubts.....have a happy RUN....!!!

    @himanshu.....
    Here is the news for u....yes it is really TOUGH....just to make u understand how tough it is....only 1% of the worlds population can perform 5 such push-ups non stop....keep it going.....!!!

    @senthil....
    You are most welcome....that is good....knee pain what u mentioned....any pain u get/experience like that and disappears after a short while is called Improvement pain....it is good and u need not worry about it....it is an indication ur body is moving/preparing itself for facing that event.....now we hv almost 71 days to go for sunfeast.....by looking into the time u r taking to run 5k and half marathon.....correct me if i am wrong.....u can loose around 5 to 6 kg weight [compare to ur ideal weight].....and that helps in increasing the speed also...may be that is that much less stress on KNEES....it is like this the entire body weight hits against the ground and ground resists back all that IMPACT is borne by ankle, knee and leg....naturally there is so much stress on knees....each kg less weight is that much better for the body.....all the very best go for it....keep writing ur experiences everybody gets benefitted naturally u also....hv a wonderful RUN....!!!

    Hi Goldyfishy....
    There are couple of observation from my side as far as physical activities are concerned....when u start a new activity body responds fast after sometime body get used to it....u may not see the same results what u use to see [weight loss am talking about.....] the point is body's fitness level [the most important factor is Fat and Water percentage is decreased and increase in Muscle percentage....even though it is a positive healthy change...u may not really see decrease in weight...rather increase/constant weight....] is also improved by then....either u need to change the activity or increase the intensity.....pls share what u felt....!!!

    @ himanshu....
    Thank u....i dnt know anyone in my circle of friends who does that....first practicing the below mentioned push-ups will help build to that....
    1] Closed hand push-ups....
    2] One hand on the Medicine ball & other hand on the ground and repeating for both hands....
    3] Once close hand and once shoulder wide alternating push-ups....
    4] legs elevated/inclined to chairs height and hands down push-ups...
    5] Hands elevated/inclined to chairs height and legs down push-ups....
    6] Hands close and open [thumb and first finger touching each hand and formed in heart shape] push-ups...
    When one can perform 20 nos of 3 sets any of the above said push-ups....will be having enough strength in his upper body to [this is what i hv been practicing....] perform single ARM push-ups....!!!
