For maximum benefit, this mixture should also be taken two times a day, though you may dilute more lemon juice according to your taste if you wish.
Do not just remain oblivious to the gifts of nature such as this, for you should always try to make the most of them. So, make it a part of your daily routine to drink a glass of warm lemon water in the morning and then open your gateway to enjoy its health benefits.

Francis Fernandes The picture shown on this page is of a lime (green) - and the article refers to lemon juice. Does lime juice work just as well? Or are we talking about the lemon which is yellow? I prefer lime to lemon, but I just wanted to be sure we were on the same page. ThanksMay 24, 2010 at 10:54 PM

Lifemojo Expert Hi Francis,
Thanks for your feedback and for using LifeMojo!
We are also going to change the picture to make it clear that in this article we are talking about Lemon.
However, the health benefits of Lime and Lemon are same! You can have Lime as well instead of Lemon.May 25, 2010 at 1:35 AM -
Francis Fernandes Thanks - if Lemons are better I'll do the lemon thing. On a trip to Egypt I got used to limeade (lime in water with a little honey or sugar) - Dos the addition of honey change the health value of the drink?May 25, 2010 at 1:56 AM
-
Lifemojo Expert Hi Francis,
Addition of honey does not affect the benefits of lemon water. However, you should always prefer honey over sugar. Honey has many medicinal, antibacterial properties and is a mild laxative as well.May 25, 2010 at 2:25 AM -

Anil S Kadsur @Abhinav......thank you....you need to loose 20 kgs in 35 days.....kind of close to 600 grms (half a kg per day...)....if you think for a second, to loose every pound u need to create calories deficit of 3500 (2.2 pound is one kg...) that means for ur target deficit per day is 3500 calories....i dnt know ur height to calculate the cal requirement for the day.....however approximately the ideal way of doing it is 50% from food intake and remaining 50% is from work out...!!!
When it comes to workout what i am following and getting real good results is.....HIIT (high Intensity Interval training) or Tabata protocol (practiced by japanese olympic cycling team to burn the fat and build speed).....Swimming will not help you for what you are looking at it right now, probably cycling is much better....!!!
It is more of maths than anything else for you...u got to burn 1750 cal per day, u really need to understand what it takes to do that....why am i telling that is.... just for calculation purpose assume u run for an hour with 12 kms/hr speed u will burn 1080 cals....however for u what is equally relivent is fat burning.....!!!
For that what i recommend is apart from HIIT.....cross training.....very high intensity for a shorter period of time (i feel it is good if u have heart rate monitor...just to make sure u know what u are doing...).....lower body and upper body combination alternatively....(skipping, shadow boxing, dips, sit-ups, pull-ups...each looking at ur fitness level....starting any where 100 to 300 each....not doing skipping only and then moving to other, do skipping and dips and then shadow boxing and then pull ups...and again repeating in a different order....not giving even 5 secs break in between....should be continuous one after another...)...!!!
Share ur experiences and results will tell you if any changes required....ALSO MAKE IT ONE POINT VERY CLEAR WHAT U WANTED ACHIEVE HERE IS, THERE IS NO HEALTHY WAY OF ACHIEVING IT, JUST GOT TO DO IT AND SHOULD BE READY TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES, WISH FOR THE GOOD.....all the very best.....!!!May 30, 2010 at 4:29 AM -
Abhinav anil sir,, a very very BIG thanks for this valuable information.. actually i m running twice a day in mornin and evening.. about 3 km in each timing.. nd doin exercise too.. wt i don't know is mathematical part.. like how much calories do i need to need to reduce per day.. nd how mch does running cuts..
could you please tell me about HIIT little bit more..nd how many kms do i need to run each day to burn out half kg a day... nd also about shadow boxing... i dont know bout this.. nd one more thing i need to ask you i was thinkin of join GYM.. will it help??
nd to burn 1750 calrs per day how long do i need to work out??? please show me the way.. thank you very much anil..
nd i am 5 feet 8-9 inches tall..May 30, 2010 at 9:20 AM -
Anil S Kadsur @Abhinav.....welcome, i acknowledge......will try to answer everything possible to the best of my knowledge.....i calculated ur cal requirement for the day (u can also calculate here in this web page itself....go to analysis and u can check it out...) it is approximately 3100 cal....sure u can cut 1750 cal from ur food alone simply bcz ur requirement is more....that is advantage.....!!!
To give u very simple calculations for calculating cal burnt while running is 90 cal/km (it works like this u will burn 1 cal per kg of body weight...ur weight is 90 kg, that mean u will burn 90 cals for every km....3 km in the morning and 3 in the evening ie. 6* 90=540 cal) that is how u can go on calculating....now u know where do u stand when it comes to burning 1750 cals/day....!!!
HIIT is a wonderful tool to build ur fitness, speed and to burn fat in a best possible shortest time....it is called High Intensity Interval Training....first u do warm up and then 100 or 200 mtrs at maximum possible speed and then u stop once ur heart rate becomes normal again u sprint 100 or 200 mtrs....u do this repetition for 7 to 8 times....initially u may find it difficult to practice (even 4 to 5 time is also ok....then u can build it...)....!!!!
Now joining about the GYM.....couple of point to remember.....very very few instructors are aware of the latest in the field of fitness.....all they know is how to have big biceps and many a times they hv tummy also, it looks so odd (no offence to anyone here....fact is...).....next is what happens there...u need to really balance very well to loose weight with the help of the zym...let me tell u why.....(the moment u start working out with the weight....u will start building the muscle and that leads to weight gain....and most of the zym's suggest u to do cardio first and then working with the weight, in ur case that doesn't help u r looking at weight loss...what u need to do is workout with the weight first then do the cardio that does wonders for u....it is so difficult make them understand, by that u just loose time and u dnt hv one....) in way when u work out with the weights (cardio last....ie. running on treadmill or cycling...) the advantage is u keep burning more cal for next 30 hrs (ie even when u sleep....)....hope i made a point clear...!!!!
Shadow boxing there a post by me in the same title in section Fitness and Exercise...pls refer that....!!!
Now how to burn 1750 cal/day....this is how i feel u should divide ur week as far as workout is concerned....5 kms running in the morning and 5 kms in the evening(approx 30 mnts each for morning and evening...)...2 times a week HIIT (it takes 5 mnts warm-up, 13 mnts and 5 mnts cool down...it can also be done with cycling also....) cross training what i mentioned earlier probably every day (it will not take more than 12 to 13 mnts/session.....)...and one long run on the weekend (probably depending on ur fitness any where between 10 to 15 kms...here dnt push urself too much right now....u will be able to do that in less than 3 weeks time....)....now u calculate how much time it takes...!!!
Hope i hv clarified most of ur doubts....also keep recording ur workouts in this web page, in case need be able to fine tune it further.....all the very best....!!!!May 30, 2010 at 10:32 AM -
Abhinav hi anil..thanks again for giving me these wonderful tips.. information u gave me was just incredible.. thanks a lot..you are simply awesome.. i never get such kind of information before anywhere on internet...
i have managed to reduce my waist from 38" to 36" within 4 days just coz of ur tips.. now daily i run for 3 kms in mrning and 3 in evening and i have been increasing distance day by day.. nd after running i do cardio and aerobic exercise like stepping, standing sprint, situps... along with it gud diet plan... lemon tea twice a day.. fruits n vegetable al the time whenever i feel hungry... lots of water...
Now.. i want to ask you smthin
1. bout situps, dips n pullups.. won't they build muscles nd give me extra weight as muscle weighs more than fat..
2. won't it be good if i practice HIIT daily in morning...
3. what kind of weight should i do in gym...means Light or heavy nd how much reps??
4. should i do weight first and then cardio or vice-versa???
please clarify this..May 31, 2010 at 9:49 PM -
Anil S Kadsur @Abhinav......that is great....am impressed and all the credits goes to YOU....u are the doer....
Point 1......small change right now u are doing all this as u said after u completing the running....first u do situps, dips...etc and run. when u do this way u will not gain muscle u will burn more fat and feel strong while running and ur core becomes very strong...!!!
Point 2....sure u can do HIIT in the morning....!!!
Point 3....At zym for weight loss do light weight more repetitions very very less gap between the sets.....!!!
Point 4.....U should do weight first and then cardio....!!!
One day of the week whenever u get time play a group sport whatever u like for at least 90 mnts.....that builds whatever muscle group u have nt worked and for the co-ordination between different muscle groups....one point to remember....record ur workout, weight, measurement of different parts of the body and time taken for workout on a daily basis....simply bcz for u time is very critical may be after a 7 or 10 days need to change the plan to make it very effective...keep rocking.....all the very best....!!!June 1, 2010 at 3:51 AM -

Abhinav @Anil... how u doin man?? sorry for respondin after a long time.. actually couldn't access internet for a while... neways.. it's been gud experience.. i have lost 6.5kg by now (excluding today).. workin on ur tips.. doin HIIT and cross training.. skippin, situps, dips with 6km runnin in a day.. n havin plenty of salad n fruits... acutally my thigh muscle has been pulled while doin sprint.. so its been difficult to sprint for the last couple of days.. what do i do??? my thigh muscle pains whenever i try to sprint.. so instead i just run faster bt not sprint (which i want to do !!!) otherwise everything is ok perhaps i need to reform my workout schedule.. isn't it??? wat do you say?? nd one more thing yaar the other day i just lost my control n ate some namkeen nd mithai... how much it would have affected me??? pls reply..June 11, 2010 at 5:22 AM
-
Anil S Kadsur @Abhinav....that is perfectly fine.....am sorry i was busy since yesterday could nt reply to you.....great going man.....happy about ur progress...!!!
Sorry to hear about thigh muscle pull....when it pains.....put ice on it for some relief....also consult a doctor and take a medicine...(to relieve the pain...)....!!!
Next what i am recommending is to build the intensity to next level....when i say that it means....how much time u take to run 6 kms, i mean what speed.....now on wards increase the speed by 10 to 15%......!!!!
Are you doing ur weekly long run....i mean like 12 to 15 kms.....very critical....dnt worry too much ate more once in a while....only point to remember is very less time u hv to reach ur goal it is very crutial if u maintain the discipline....will reply further after seeing ur comments....keep rocking....!!!June 12, 2010 at 11:38 AM -
Abhinav @anil.. thnks man.. i had already increased speed a little bit n i can feel my stamina has build up.. bt i've not been doin weekly long run.. now i'll go for dat.. so how should i do it??? 12 to 15 kms non-stop? means joggin or little bit sprinting also?? nd once i ate a little bit more n bro dat wsn't gud experience for me.. wt just stopped there.. nd i feel my wt has come to a stable point means it's takin a long to reduce.. wat shud i do now.. now its goin 300 gm down per day.. i m worried.. wat do i do??June 12, 2010 at 10:30 PM
-
Anil S Kadsur @Abhinav......Yes 12 to 15 kms non-stop....if it is really tough for you then stop at that point...whatever speed, something comfortable for you and u can keep it going, keeping in mind to complete 12 to 15 kms.....!!!!
Yes that is why i said you need to change ur workout after 10 days to keep loosing ur weight at the same pace like earlier.....wt happens body is getting used to this, now u need to change and need to increase the intensity.....at this point what i would like to say is.....u wrote u r eating lot of veg and fruits....cut that by half (compare to whatever quantity u r eating...dnt eat banana, mango and chikku/sapota....)....!!!
One more point.....90 mnts before the workout and 90 mnts after the workout dnt eat anything....that helps u to loose much better pace.....!!!!
Also tell me how much time u take to run 3 or 6 kms.....i mean average speed per km....???
If you can get access to cycle.....looking cycling thrice a week...each time at least for 90 mnts....it really helps...!!!
What is the number of skipping u r doing....how comfortable u r doing that...how much time u take to do that....????
keep me updated...will make it happen together.....all the best man.....!!!June 13, 2010 at 10:52 AM -
Deepika Hi..2 months back I got operated on both my legs due to some bone problem and i am on bed since then and have put on lot of weight..could anyone pls suggest how can i reduce some without any exercise because i will not be able to walk for one more month..
Thanks!!June 24, 2010 at 5:22 AM -
Shikha Mishra @ Deepika .......in this post operative stage be very careful about your calorie intake, because any type of weight gain will impose extra burden on your newly operated legs, which obviously is not desirable. So try to cut fat ,oil and carbohydrate content in your diet and increase calcium ,vitamin-B ,and protein for better recovery.
At this stage the best way to lose weight is by doing pranayam, which you can do while sitting on a bed or even a chair (but this should be done under expert guidance ).June 24, 2010 at 6:15 AM -
Deepika @ Shikha...Thank you so much Shikha for your advice..I have already started diet...and now will surely start pranayam too...Thanks..June 25, 2010 at 3:22 AM
