We often fail to accomplish our tasks and lack of motivation contributes to our failure. But from where does this motivation come? From our own selves, from loved ones and friends, and from the environment that surrounds us! A positive environment or in general positivity, gives birth to motivation. In other words, you feel energetic and enthusiastic to work in a positive atmosphere. People, who are with a positive attitude, inspire us. They have a strong impact in our lives. The positive vibes spread by these people makes us feel very happy. Positive energy is unseen but can make a difference in your life and health. Presence of positive people around you will imbibe more positive thoughts in your mind and you will feel the energy to accomplish your tasks.

Medical research has shown that positive people have an unusual good health and that they experience healthy aging. Their bodies appear to have a greater stamina and the ability to fight diseases.
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh reviewed more than 100,000 women over 50 years since 1994. They discovered that women with an optimistic approach were 14 percent more likely to be alive and 30 percent less likely to die from a chronic illness as opposed to women who were pessimists. On the other hand, women with hostile and cynical characteristics were found to have a higher death rate and a 23 percent greater risk of dying from some form of cancer.
How Can You Create Positivity Around You?
- Smile: Positivity starts with a smile. It definitely helps you attract other persons. If you increase your frown a little bit more, it becomes a smile and takes far less energy to do so! When you smile in front of someone, it expresses love and empathy within you. It means that you are friendly and approachable. A smile can help you calm down in times of anger.
- Socialize: Socialize more to get to know more people and to find out your perfect companions. In this process, you will also come to know about the person or a group of people who spread positive energy to you. Try to avoid the people who spread negative vibes.
- Communicate Positively: Positive people do not waste time and energy in thinking and saying anything negative. If someone asks us 'How are you?' or 'How was the day?' we immediately reply, 'Oh, I had a bad day' or 'I am just alive'! These are the common negative words we often utter in times of crisis or trouble. Even if you didn't have a good day, you can still take a deep breath and reply back saying, "I am good and life is good too". No, you are not asked to hide anything or suppress your emotions because there is always a way to remove your frustration and anger by writing it down or by going for a walk or by distracting yourself by watching a comedy show on the television. You can build in positive thinking through a regular practice of this habit.
- Do Positive Deeds: Don't just think! Instead, take an action! You may be thinking positive, but it is more essential to convert your positive thoughts into positive actions as well. If you think to help others when they are in need, go and serve those who are needy. Serve as volunteer in any NGO or other organizations and help the poor by educating them. Distribute food to those who are living in poverty. Adopting a child who was dumped by his parents will go a long way to build his life. Donate your old clothes and stuffs to those who lost everything in a natural calamity like an earthquake or floods. The smile and blessings from the ones, whom you have helped, will increase the positivity in your life.
- Stay in a Positive Group: Form a group of positive persons. They are the ones who spread happiness and only happiness! Decide to meet them once a week, may be over the weekend. Go for an outing or do something creative! When helping others becomes a motto, then it can imbibe a lot of positive energy to you. Exchange ideas and support with others. You want to find people who accept you for who you are, but are still willing to challenge you in a positive and constructive manner. They are the individuals who will allow you to excel in all your personal as well as professional endeavors.
- Do Small, Yet Impressive Acts Daily: On a daily basis, do something good either for yourself or for your loved ones or sometimes even for a stranger! For instance, give a rose to someone who is sad or going through a bad phase in life. He may be your colleague, friend or a relative. Plant a tree in the name of your lover or someone who has passed away. Teach your child how to stay disciplined and the ways to deal with respect with other people.
Positive people tend to have a store of energy that never seems to let them down and they are able to achieve the great goals in life that they desire and dream about. Positive reinforcement on your achievements can be a good motivator for you and can bring in positivity. Going to positive notes written by famous authors, listening to positive music and songs which create life in you, reading positive books and viewing positive and inspiring movies can all act as great ways of motivation by awakening the real positive spirit within you!
