To enjoy an active sex life, you should be constantly aware of what you should avoid and what you can follow. There are many important factors that you should follow like a proper diet and regular exercise because these can make your sex life better.

Three Things That You Should Avoid For a Better Sex Life

There are certain things that you can avoid to improve your sex life, and these are:

1. Avoid Excessive Stress

Yes, it is quite official. Excessive stress can play havoc with your sexual life. This is quite evident because sex involves both physical and psychological factors. You may be physically ready for some intimate time together, but if you’re psychologically lost somewhere in your worries, your sex life will hardly reach anywhere.

The problem that’s causing your stress maybe purely personal or professional, but when your body is mentally stressed, the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline will first be released by your body. The release of such stress hormones will then be followed by a sudden decrease in your sex drive, as the testosterone content in your body will fall.

Studies have shown that excessive stress can also affect the quality of your sperm and its quantity. This holds true for both women and men, as women produce hormones too, through their ovaries. Even if you’re stressed, you should avoid going for antidepressants because these can decrease your sex drive even further.

Techniques like deep breathing exercises, yoga and meditation can help in bringing down your stress levels, so try and opt for such methods to unwind and relax before you go to bed. People feel stressed out mainly due to lack of sleep, so ensure that you get enough sleep every day.

2. Avoid The Wrong Foods And Stimulants

For a good sex life, your diet should be well tailored and should have all the necessary nutrients. You should eat healthy food items like vegetables and fruits, and these can be consumed in normal quantities throughout the day. You can eat six meals in small quantities through the day so that you don’t feel bloated and heavy during any point of time.

Caffeine and other stimulants like nicotine are sure to affect your sex drive, so stick to decaffeinated coffee whenever possible and try and avoid caffeinated foods entirely. Cigarettes should also be avoided, because apart from their highly dangerous side effects (they cause impotency!); they can also make your breath stink and deter your partner from cuddling with you.

Lean protein items can help in increasing your libido, so these can be included in every meal.

3. Avoid Sex Enhancement Pills

This is one of the most important factors that you have to consider, because not all enhancement pills are safe. There are many pills available in the market and herbal versions of enhancement pills are also currently doing the rounds among couples.

Such medication should never be taken without the prior approval of a doctor as they can cause a host of problems when taken in the wrong dosage, or along with other medication. This is particularly true because sexual enhancement pills can react with nitrates. People who take medication for their heart problems will have a good amount of nitrates in their body, so they should refrain from taking such enhancement pills.

Even popular pills like Cialis and Viagra can cause painful and prolonged erections (priapism) when taken in high doses. Priapism occurs because these pills allow blood to flow into the genital area, but block the blood that flows out of it.

Cases of blurry and hazy vision have been also reported, and loss of vision is another possibility when these medicines are used regularly.
