Many people suffer from low blood pressure too. If your blood pressure is consistently reading 90/60 mmHg or less, you are considered to be having hypotension or low blood pressure. Low blood pressure usually indicates underlying illness, stress, or infection. It is also a common symptom of pregnancy, dehydration, thyroid disorders, or arrhythmias.

Natural Remedies for Low Blood Pressure

The main causes of this condition are malnutrition or faulty nutrition, loss of blood or internal bleeding, or emotional instability. The symptoms of low blood pressure are dizziness, weakness, lethargy, fatigue, etc. The person may get frequent dizzy spells, which could result in fainting spells. This is when the arterial pressure goes very low.

Prevention of Low Blood Pressure

Isn't prevention better than cure? By incorporating certain diet changes and exercise, you can avoid getting hypotension.

  • Food Habits: Include foods rich in proteins, vitamin C, vitamin B; fruits, and asafetida (hing) in your diet, with an appropriate amount of salt. This will ensure that your blood pressure does not dip too low.
  • Exercise: Have a good exercise regimen that includes exercises such as light walking, swimming, and cycling. This will regulate your blood pressure level.

Sieve this mixture through a muslin cloth. Add 1 tsp of honey to this mixture and have it first thing in the morning.

  • Almonds: Leave 7 almonds to soak in a bowl of water overnight. Peel them and prepare a paste out of this. Add this paste to lukewarm milk and drink.
  • Indian Spikenard (Jatamansi): Boil 250 ml of water in which 15 to 20 grams of Indian Spikenard has been put. Let this cool down and have this concoction thrice a day. Alternatively, take about 30 to 40 grains of this herb with a pinch of camphor and cinnamon added.
