Everywhere we look there are weight loss programs promising to help you lose weight. The problem is finding a legitimate weight program. Although finding time to exercise may be difficult, it is the best way to lose weight, and of course eating right. Most people who are trying to lose weight feel they love food so much that they cannot actually diet or even exercise. They also lament that even if they try to diet and exercise, it is emotionally so depriving that they cannot sustain it. The biggest motivation trick is to find out the things which appeal to you and start working around the list.

Make Weight Loss Fun

Remember weight loss should not a temporary fad; it should be a permanent change in the lifestyle. And just like any other change, it should be planned and well executed. Here are some tips to get you started:

  • Firstly, set priorities and see where health figures in you priority chart. Is staying healthy and looking good as important to you as buying a car or having a beautiful house?
  • Secondly, understand your tastes; do you like the rich taste of creamy dairy products or perhaps chatpata chat papdi, maybe a rich biryani.
  • Thirdly, analyze your behavior, do you frequently, under pressure, look for food as options. Do you indulge in comfort eating whenever things or people upset you?
  • Fourthly, organize yourself. Many people fail to loose weight because they do not have the will and are too casual about such an important part of their life.

After you have put Being Healthy where you think it means to you, make a commitment to enjoy the process of transformation. This is a vital ingredient as a cheerful pleasantly plump person looks more attractive than a perfect 6 pack abs body with a grumpy or miserable expression!

There are many ways for weight loss to be fun and/or enjoyable. Different people will think of different things as fun. Some people do in fact love to run and that is the way they exercise. For others their interests are different. Here are some tips to make your weight loss fun:

  • Buy books on healthy cooking. There are lakhs of recipes available which can help you make delicious and healthy cuisine. Health food doesn't need to be boring. Your can make brown rice idli or momos, bhelpuri, oat and soy breads, stuffed tandoori roti, lauki kheer, cold coffee with skimmed milk, namkeen lassi with zeera (cumin) and black salt, whole wheat pasta, paneer salad with balsamic dressing, a roast potato and walnut salad with a hung curd and mustard dressing. The list is endless and only limited by your own creativity.
  • Join an exercise which suits your taste. It could be dance, aerobics, salsa, swimming,   or simply group exercise.
  • Find someone to be your exercise buddy. Don't choose just anyone: Pick someone who is full of energy, fun and who you look forward to spending time with. That way, you'll want to exercise just to be with your friend.
  • Get yourself a tiny music player and download some audio books or podcasts. Hundreds of free podcasts are available covering any topic you can imagine. Audio books can also be easily downloaded. This way, when you think about exercising, you can be looking forward to "reading" the next chapter in your novel.
  • Don't do the exact same exercise routine every day; mix it up. If you always run on the treadmill, run outside on a nice day. Take a week off your lifting routine and do a salsa class instead. As soon as you feel your exercise routine becoming a rut, find something else to do.
  • If you are not a person who can or wants to go to the gym you might like to try at-home videos. There are many different types of workout videos to choose from, and you can exercise from the privacy of your own home.
  • Open your mind to distress and fun avenues like good music, nice movies, aroma candles even shopping.
  • Always have a never say die attitude! And being in the company of positive people will help you to actually fulfill your goals!

It all comes down to this; it's got to be fun. It needs to add to the experience of your day. If you can crack that nut, then integrating good health into your life will be monumentally easier. What's in store for you, if you keep trying your best, is a better life. It may not seem that way in the beginning, which is one reason many people quit before they experience these changes. Any new lifestyle change can seem overwhelming at first, but there is a secret to staying on track: Take it one day at a time, one healthy choice at a time. Stay with it and you'll finally see the bright side of weight loss.
