Cancer is a disease that is affecting the health of many more people especially in the modern western world. Cancer is not a single disease, but the generic name for more than 200 diseases, all having in common the uncontrolled reproduction of abnormal cells. Although scientists have only recently begun to understand the causes and growth of cancer, there exists a large and growing body of evidence showing that daily choices about diet, physical activity and weight management play a major role in cancer risk.

How to Avoid Risk of Cancer?

What is cancer?

Cancer cells are the modified or mutant variety of cells which grow very fast. They grow from a defective cell which has been damaged by the toxins within the body and is not cleared up by the body immune system. This cell then begins to multiply very rapidly without actually reaching structural or functional completion (maturity). It eats away into the nutrition of the other tissue without actually contributing in terms of any function and slowly kills the functional cells.

What provokes the mutation in cells?

There are various conditions which result in the development of cancer:

  • A highly acidic environment

An acidic environment is very conducive to the growth of damaged cancerous cells. It depresses the tissue immunity and exchange of nutrients across the cell. As a result, cell structure starts getting damaged.

  • Anaerobic breathing of the tissues

When we eat a diet which is very rich in processed and devitalized (lifeless, non-nourishing) food, the body ends up producing cancer cells due to fermentation and lack of oxygen.

  • Change in the electromagnetic energy of the body

As we know the body is composed of water and minerals which make it charged and this is apparent in the electromagnetic fields of the body. When cancer strikes, it first affects these magnetic fields of the body.

  • Deficiency of enzymes

Our body needs vital enzymes to facilitate the process of nutrient assimilation. A deficiency of such enzymes overloads the system resulting in cancer cells.

What can I do about it?

Cancer treatment can greatly affect your nutritional needs. The treatments at times may even influence the body's ability to process nutrients. Hence, patients undergoing cancer treatments should take special care in their diet so as to balance their health conditions. Some tips that can be given are:

  • You should have more dark green vegetables in the diet as they provide the valuable cancer fighters like beta carotene and vitamin E.
  • Have whole-grain breads and cereals and other high-fiber foods to promote smooth colon function. Also, the micronutrients (like selenium) found in whole grains (foods with fiber) are very important.
  • Citrus and other fruits are very important as they are a source of raw enzymes and antioxidants.
  • Magnetically charged water is very important to clean the blood and plasma channels of accumulated toxins.
  • Raw foods like sprouts, raw salads also provide very vital enzymes.
  • Go for exercises/walks or do pranayam as it results in Aerobic metabolism.
  • Avoid acidic and processed foods. Also avoid smoked foods as it results in some hydrocarbons being produced which are damaging for the cell.

Note: These tips, if followed by a person who is not a cancer patient, also reduce the risk of cancer

Of course, Prevention is better than cure. Scientists estimate that if everyone ate a healthy diet, was physically active every day and maintained a healthy weight, the number of cancer cases would be reduced by about one-third. Smoking causes about 30 percent deaths from cancer. What this means is that we have the potential to reduce the chances of developing cancer through the choices we make every day.
