Ringworm is a common fungal infection of the skin. The ringworm patches on skin appear red, raised, and scaly patches. They are often redder around the outside with normal skin tone in the centre. This may create the appearance of a ring. There is itching and discoloration of skin. Bald patches appear in the hair of the scalp and beard if they are infected. Infected nails become discolored and thick.

Home Remedies for Getting Rid of Ringworms

Treatment Measure and Home Remedies for Ring Worm

The treatment of ringworm is with topical antifungal medications. Most people suffer from ringworm especially during summer. Avoid sharing towels, sports gear and use antifungal soap. You can try home remedies descried below:

  • Take a well-balanced diet with more seeds, nuts, wholegrain cereals, raw or lightly cooked vegetables, and fresh fruits. Include lots of fresh fruits in the diet. Drink plenty of water. Avoid tea, coffee, sugar, white flour products, and tinned or bottled foods.
  • Wash the ringworm patches with warm water.
  • Rub slices of raw papaya on the ringworm patches. You can use papaya seeds (dried ones) to make a fine paste and apply these over the ringworms.
  • Raw turmeric juice can be made and this can be applied to the parts of the skin affected by ringworm. Also take one teaspoon of turmeric juice and an equal quantity of honey orally.
  • Prepare a paste from mustard seeds and apply over ringworm patches.
  • Cassia tree leaves can be used in order to reduce the pain and bring down the swelling in the skin. These leaves can either be used in the form of a paste or they can be blended to make a juice. This can be applied on the ringworm patches.
  • Apply the juice of the holy basil leaves over the affected parts two to three times daily.
  • Apply coconut oil over ringworm patches.
  • Try sunbathing in the morning in order to get rid of ringworms.
  • Drink raw vegetable juice. Mix 200 ml of spinach juice and 300 ml of carrot juice and drink this mix every day.
  • Apply juice of aloe vera on the affected part.
  • Rub castor oil on affected areas in case of scalp ring worm.
  • You can obtain some herb butea seeds and grind these. A fine paste should then be made with these and lime juice. When this is applied on the affected areas, it will provide relief.
  • Apply a light mud pack over ringworm patches for half an hour twice daily.
  • Apply tea tree oil on the ringworm patches three times a day.

These home remedies can help you get rid of ringworms easily, and enjoy smooth and healthy skin. Proper skincare is important, as skin diseases can bring down your confidence and rob you off your personality.
