Spending a lot of money on beauty salons does not necessarily mean that you are getting the best of the available treatments! Some treatments will simply burn a hole in your pocket without getting you the desired effect. And just think, if you have availed a costly anti-wrinkle treatment without noticing any change so far!

Fight Aging: Home Remedies for Wrinkles

What Causes Wrinkles?

"Wrinkle", the very word can cause the worry lines to appear on your face! They are the creases on thin and sagging skin. They appear due to a decreased level of elastin and collagen in the connective tissues of the skin. The basic cause of wrinkles is aging, but factors such as over exposure to sun, pollution, smoking, stress, genes, weight loss and vitamin E loss can also lead to the formation of wrinkles.

Home Remedies for Wrinkles

No woman can tolerate wrinkles on her face! Natural cures have their own merit and you can think of substituting costly treatments with the natural remedies. Here are some simple home remedies that can delay the occurrence of wrinkles:

  • Egg White: Application of egg white on the wrinkle-prone skin like the under-eye region, forehead and neck may help in skin tightening and this way, it can reduce wrinkles naturally. Egg white contains a good mix of proteins and other skin essential vitamins and minerals, which improve the overall skin health.
  • Sugarcane Juice and Turmeric Paste: The paste can be applied on the wrinkles as it helps in restoring the tightness of the skin. It is considered as one of the best home remedies for treating wrinkles.
  • Oil Massage: Oils like olive oil, virgin coconut oil, castor oil or almond oil contain vitamin E, which is responsible for a youthful skin. Hence a gentle massage done with any of the above mentioned oils helps in the rejuvenation of the dead skin and contributes towards healthier and younger looking skin.
  • Milk Cream and Lemon Juice: Mix 4 to 5 drops of lemon juice with milk cream and apply on the skin. Leave it for 30 minutes and then wash off with cold water. It acts as a natural moisturizing agent and helps in treating wrinkles and other skin problems like black spots and blemishes.
  • Papaya: Rubbing papaya on your face and neck and leaving it for 10 minutes before your bath helps in getting a smoother, brighter and younger looking skin. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain which helps in removing the dead skin cells and encourages the growth of newer skin.
  • Fruit Juice: While applying any face pack, mix it with any fruit juice instead of plain water. Healthy options include lemon juice, carrot juice and cucumber juice.
  • Pineapple Core or Lemon Wedge: Rubbing the core of pineapple and lemon wedge on skin helps in treating wrinkles. But this is not an ideal treatment for dry skin.
  • Banana: Rub banana on face and neck for at least once in a week. Bananas are rich in several vitamins that help in the rejuvenation of the skin and prevent the formation of wrinkles.
  • Fluids and Water: Dehydrated skin looks much older and dull. Hence hydration is important to make your skin look younger.
  • Fresh Fruits and Vegetables: Fresh fruits and vegetables come with micro minerals and vitamins which are essential for skin health. Flaxseeds, almonds and walnuts provide us with the essential fatty acids that play a vital role in improving skin health. Daily intake of a spoonful of roasted flax seeds or having soaked almonds or walnuts every morning can go a long way to benefit your skin.

You should note that Nature has its own healing power. And it is far more effective than the chemical or the cosmetic treatments offered in a beauty salon. You need to give some time to yourself. If throwing money would have solved any issue, then people would have never come up with complaints again and again!
