The male reproductive organ, the penis which is spongy in nature is composed of two chambers. Tunica Albuginea is a membrane that surrounds it, while the spongy tissues are composed of veins, arteries, and fibrous tissues. Urine and semen pass through the urethra.

Erectile Dysfunction Treatment - The Ayurvedic Way

The erection of penis happens because of sensory stimulation. Your brain sends out signals to the nerves, and these are responsible for the relaxation and contraction of muscles. They in turn regulate blood flow into the spaces that are present in the spongy tissues. This causes the penis to expand and it becomes erect. The membrane surrounding the penis traps the blood in the chambers to help sustain the erection.

Only if his reproductive organ becomes erect will it be possible for a man to penetrate into the vagina of his partner and perform the sexual act wholly, providing satisfaction for both partners. When this natural process of erection is disturbed, erectile dysfunction happens. Erectile dysfunction is also known as impotence wherein a man will be unable to get his organ to function effectively. This usually leads to a condition where he will not be able to sire any children.
