Our dreams vary as per our interests. Some of us may get motivated with the lavish lifestyle and achievements of the liquor baron, Vijay Mallya while some may want to follow the path of the spiritual leader named Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Aspiring fashion designers may find Georgio Armani as their role model while young actors may try to be like Robert De Niro or Al Pacino. We all dream, but very few of us really take the trouble to use a lever to move that "hard rock", the obstacle that comes in the way of our dream realization.

8 Tips for Making Your Dreams Come True

Dreams let you have a vision of what you want to become in life, what you want to achieve and what inspires you the most. It is your passion, your desire and your thirst to fulfill your dreams. We, the humans have the amazing gift of dreaming. It may even lead us to imagine things that are absolutely crazy and completely out of our reach like flying, staying hours under water or ruling the world. A dream is a dream till you write it down and once you write it down; it then becomes your goal. Some might just dream but will not know how to achieve their goals in reality.

Here are the steps that will help you not only dream but to conquer and overrule all your obstacles and succeed in your goals:

  1. Start Small: The first step is to take an initiative and begin with day to day activities. For example, start with the things that you can manage like targeting daily routines of finishing your work or studies in time. Set small targets that are achievable so that you can start off with full confidence from the very beginning.
  2. Start Saving: You may dream of owning a big 4-bedroom house for you and your family in a nice location, but how do you think you are going to manage all that? Start saving your money by limiting your expenses and focusing more on the idea of how to make more profit from fewer resources. Buy things only if these are really required. The less you spend, the less you need to make money. And that will give you more freedom to do whatever you want.
  3. Visualize Your Goals: It is very important to picture yourself the person you want to become in future or even a better version of it. You need to be very clear about the things that you want to include in your wish list. Clarity of your goals and mental mapping of the same will help you achieve your goals faster. For example, if you want the latest car in the market, visualize what color you want, the way you will drive it and how you will look while you drive it. The experience will not only be pleasurable but it is also achievable at the same time.
  4. Do Not Stop Learning: This is a very crucial step in achieving anything in your life. Learning is something that is abundant and you can never say that you know everything. Vast knowledge and information will remain to be explored in this world. Try to grab each and every drop from the ocean and be a learner or a student throughout your life. This will always keep you humble and down to earth and will allow you to reach greater heights through learning.
  5. Dream Again in Case You Fail: Be open minded and even if you fail, learn to get up and dream once again. Rises and falls are a part and parcel of life. You need to accept life with them and learn to look ahead no matter what the situation is. Life doesn't stop at one point. For example, you may face failure the first time you open a business, but it may have several causes behind it. Try to find out what they were and kick them out the next time you are back on your track.
  6. Set Deadlines that Work: Most of the times people work under pressure and they do perform well also. Give yourself a deadline before anyone else does so that you listen to yourself and not under anyone else's pressure! In that way, you will feel proud of completing a task within the time limit. For example, if your boss gives you a project to be completed within 20 days, you decide to finish it by the 15th day itself! Compete with yourself and even if you do not finish it in 15 days, you will still have another 5 days in hand.
  7. Make Connections, Make Friends: Your contacts will take you to places. A genius doesn't stand alone. Successful people are without exception, well connected. Getting to know various types of people will also give you exposure to so many other areas of life and you will learn from every single person you meet in your life. In return, you do the same for others too. If others motivate you, you take this chance of motivating others as well. Overcome your fears and inhibitions. Explore yourself, your ideas and think in an innovative way. Following the crowd is a path to mediocrity!
  8. Stay Committed: Staying committed will ultimately pave the way for the successful accomplishment of your dreams or goals. Your dedication is the most important factor in achieving your dreams.

Any successful individual, whom you think as your role model, has emerged victorious after episodes of struggle. There will be obstacles and you need to exercise much patience. Remember, Rome was not built in a day. Therefore, it may take some time before your dreams get finally realized.
