It is scientifically proven that your brain can effectively focus and concentrate for up to 25 minutes (adults), after which it starts wandering around. Mental exhaustion is as dangerous as physical exhaustion. After you perform a lot of work in a day you tend to undergo a lot of stress and your mind becomes dull. People especially from certain professions such as writers and engineers whose jobs involve a lot of thinking face this problem on a regular basis. In a stressful situation it's often necessary to refresh your mind and recalibrate all its functions. So here are a few tips to help your mind refresh and reboot:

  1. Music: Soothing music is very beneficial for your mental resources. Clear your mind by just sitting back and getting lost in good music. Making music is even better. Pull out your old keyboard or download an music app for your phone and start strumming away.
  2. Exercise: A walk in the park is still the old favorite for many people. Regular, moderate-to-vigorous physical activity is a good energizer. Physical exertion stimulates and refreshes your mind in addition to all its other benefits.
  3. Laugh: Laughter is indeed the best medicine for boredom. Much like exercise, laughter and humor release endorphins that improve your mood and sense of well-being. So watch something funny on TV or read a comic book. Find humor in your situation when possible.
  4. Mental Exercise: Your brain loves to be questioned and be puzzled. So when you feel exhausted while studying or working, start solving fun mental puzzles to invigorate your brain. Look around for some fun mental exercise, even the search for such activities could be fun.
  5. Socialize: Man, by nature, is a social animal. Human interaction seems to keep our minds refreshed. Make contact with new people or call up a friend. Talk to friends about something other than your situation.
  6. Take a Nap: Nothing refreshes your mind more than a little nap. A good nap is a strong foundation for your productivity. Once you complete your nap, you will feel much better and you will be able to get much more work done than you would have if you were tired.
  7. Smell Something Good: Lit your favorite scented candle or smell a cup of hot coffee. By smelling something good, your mind can be easily refreshed so that it can work more.
  8. Get a Massage: Massage is the perfect way to relieve tension and reduce stress. You can try different types of massages on different days to re-invigorate yourself.
  9. Take a Bath: A nice, hot bath helps you relax your muscles and your mind. You can add a bath salt that will help you moisturize your skin and the nice smell will also plays its part.
  10. Daydream: For a short period of time, give your imagination the permission to run wild in child-like wonderlands. This helps your mind to refresh so that it can focus on the day to day task later.
