The majority of people all across the globe want to shed a few pounds. But they don't have the knowledge or the time to research on this subject. There are so many fitness and weight loss tips out making the idea of weight loss very overwhelming and frustrating. Adding to that, the ability to lose weight and keep it off is not easy.

Weight loss is not a goal it is a journey, and the surest way to complete this journey is by making small changes. There are lots of little tips that can result in big weight loss, such as:
- Have Small Portions: Remember the saying 'good things come in small packages'. There is no point in deprivation. Instead high-calorie foods like cheese and chocolate can be cut into smaller pieces and thus can be enjoyed fully.
- Do Not Skip Meals: Eating small frequent meals helps to balance your calorie intake throughout the day and also avoid any sugar high or crashes.
- Get Active During Commercials: Commercials make up around 10 to 15 minutes of an hour long show and provides a great opportunity to get yourself moving without missing your favorite TV show. You can alternate between cardio and resistance training. During the first commercials break, do as many push-ups or crunches, and during the second commercials break, go up and down stairs, skip or run/walk in place.
- Practice Deep Breathing: A Japanese research has found that taking six deep and calming breaths in 30 seconds can reduce your systolic blood pressure (the higher number in your blood pressure reading) by nearly 10 mmHg. Reduced blood pressure means reduced risk of stroke or any other cardiovascular disease.
- Ice-up Sugary Drinks: It is quite difficult to restraint yourself from sugary drinks like sodas and colas. Instead, add a lot of ice to your drinks. This way you have a lesser serving of the damaging soda and more serving of hydrating water.
- Cereals Instead of Bread Crumbs: Rather than coating your chicken breast with bread crumbs, use healthy whole wheat cereals to coat them. This is a great way to add extra fiber to your diet.
- Stand When You Surf: If your job involves surfing the internet for a lot for information, you can stand when you are surfing (with your laptop places on a high countertop) instead of sitting down on your cozy chair. This is also good for your back muscles.
- Try Something New: Broaden your food repertoire. You may find you like more healthy foods than you knew.
- Keep a Food Journal: Keeping a food journal helps you pin point your eating pattern and will enable you to easily modify it. Using the journal makes it possible to spot eating behaviors that would otherwise go unnoticed. A study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that dieters who tracked their food intake in a "food diary" lost twice as much weight as those who didn't track their food.
- Plan a Weekend Trek: Daily life can get a bit monotonous sometimes. It can also be very busy and leave you with hardly any time to exercise. So make the most of the weekend by planning a trek to the nearby mountain. You will re-energize yourself and get some exercise at the same time.
And the most important tip of all of them - Don't procrastinate! Start your weight loss program today.
