Pineapple Halwa Recipe

A pineapple flavored sweet dish prepared using grated pineapple slices, low fat khoya and cardamom. It is one the favorite dessert served on special occasions, garnished with grated almonds.

Ingredients (Makes 4 Servings)

  • Pineapples (grated) - 1.5 cups
  • Low fat khoya/mava (grated) - 0.25 cup
  • Low fat milk - 0.5 cup
  • Cardamom (elaichi) powder - 0.5 tsp
  • Few kesar strands – soaked in 1 tbsp low fat milk
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Almonds - 2-3
  • Sugar free - 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a non-stick pan, heat ghee and add the pineapple and sugar free. Let it cook for around 10 minutes on a low flame stirring continuously.
  2. Now add the low fat khoya & low fat milk, stir well.
  3. In low flame only, mix the ingredients well and let it cook for at least 10 mins or till the mixture thickens.
  4. Remove from flame, add the saffron milk & cardamom powder and mix gently. Cover it with a lid for 5 mins.
  5. Serve hot or chilled garnished with grated almond.
