Fish in Banana leaves Recipe
A delicious steamed parsi dish with chunks of fish smeared with green chutney and wrapped in banana leaves. It also looks really pretty when served wrapped-up in the banana leaf.

Ingredients (Makes 4 Serving)
- Any fish, large chunks - 8
- Banana leaves - 3-4
- Lemon juice - 4 tablespoons
- Coconut, scraped - 2 tablespoons
- Green chillies, chopped - 4
- Fresh coriander (dhania) leaves, chopped - 1 cup
- Garlic - 6-8 cloves
- Cumin (jeera) seeds - 3 teaspoons
- Salt - to taste
Instructions
- Sprinkle lemon juice and salt on the fish chunks and marinate for fifteen minutes.
- Grind together coconut, green chillies, coriander leaves, garlic and cumin seeds to a fine paste.
- Keep each fish piece on a piece of banana leaf, spread green chutney on both sides and fold the leaf over the fish to make a parcel.
- Heat water in a steamer. Keep the fish parcel in the steamer and steam for five to seven minutes. Serve hot.
