The "anesthetic" smell of the spirit may lead to different "emotions" in different people. Some may "constrict" their noses in a typical fashion so as to show their "conservatism" or simple dislikes while others may get churned up and start thinking about some "sudden showers". And there will be a few people who will try to extract some scientific facts and data pertaining to the effects of drinking on health.

Study Links Moderate Drinking to Healthy Aging

And they may find some positivity with researchers claiming that drops of hard drinks may sometimes act as "sacred evil". Researchers intended to examine the effects of alcohol consumption on 13,894 women, who participated at the Nurses' Health Study with respect to "successful aging".

The term "successful aging" referred to certain conditions like surviving up to 70 years without suffering chronic ailments like heart diseases, cancer, diabetes or stroke and without having to experience cognitive or physical impairments and any kind of issues pertaining to mental health. Only 11 percent of the study subjects were found to have met these criteria.

It was observed that women who drank moderate amounts of alcohol especially wine on a regular basis were more likely to experience successful aging. The largest benefits came to be observed in women who consumed around 15.1 to 30 gram (1 to 2.5 drinks) daily in comparison to the non-drinkers.

Women who drank for only 1 to 2 days a week had little chances of experiencing successful aging while those who were on a 5-days-a-week drinking habit, had almost a 50 percent chance of experiencing successful aging.

In totality, the researchers concluded that regular alcohol consumption may benefit the other sides of healthy or successful aging without limiting it to just mere survival. Well, drink lovers, you will need to remember the previously mentioned measurements- moderate in qualitative terms and 1 to 2.5 drinks daily on a quantitative basis. And the results will definitely not give you the permission to become Dev Ds.
