If you have any complaint against anything or anyone, then you are sure to find out a very common underlying cause behind it- stress. If you fail to accomplish anything at home or at work, then you may pronounce the term "stress" to get some sympathy or empathy on your side. Stress has become the "ready" answer for everyone trying to defend themselves.

And stress seems to be an answer or an explanation even if you get breakouts on your face. This is what dermatologists have suggested at the 2011 Summer Academy Meeting of the American Academy of dermatology.
The researchers were interested to know how the stressful emotional states like anger, frustration, anxiety and depression get transformed into physiological issues. To understand the same, researchers tried to give importance to the biological process which occurs when a person gets stressed.
Researchers suggested that the skin gets its first line of defense against any type of infections from the release of neuropeptides from its nerve endings. During an attempt to protect the skin, the neuropeptides may lead to skin inflammations and feelings of discomfort in the form of itching, sensitivity, tingling and numbness.
According to the researchers, stress can cause these neuropeptides to be inaccurately generated, which in turn, can give birth to a variety of skin conditions. The neuropeptides make their way to the brain and boosts the reuptake of neurotransmitters. This indicates that stress exhausts serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine, the brain chemicals which control our emotions.
Thus, psoriasis patients, who are feeling bad about their situations, tend to feel more stressed and this causes a further decline in their emotional state. Researchers opined that in such cases, traditional skin treatments should be supplemented by Tai Chi, yoga, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnosis, psychotherapy and medication.
