The ultimate truth lies in the fact that when the "pumping" will stop, life will cease to exist. In other words, cessation in the throbbing of the heart will end a life on this earth. So ultimately, it's our heart which keeps beating, pumping blood into our arteries and keeping us alive. No wonder, why diseases related to it will become the leading killers.

A new study has found that older women with breast cancer are more likely to die from cardiovascular diseases. In fact, a large number of elderly women suffering from breast cancer, have been found to have died from heart diseases.
This has been suggested by University of Colorado researchers after they have studied as many as 60, 000 medical records concerning women diagnosed with breast cancer. The average age of the subjects were 66 years old older.
The researchers found that almost two-thirds of the cancer sufferers have died of heart diseases and not due to cancer. In fact, cardiovascular diseases were found to contribute to the death of more women in comparison to the cancer itself.
This finding led researchers to conclude that doctors should take proper steps to reduce the risks of heart diseases as part of the breast cancer management for elderly women. According to Natasha Stewart, Senior Cardiac Nurse at the British Heart Foundation, "Heart disease is the single most common cause of death for women in the UK. We can't afford to ignore the fact that it kills nearly 40,000 women each year - three times more than breast cancer".
It's a fact that a woman becomes more vulnerable to heart diseases as her age progresses. So it's very important for her to consider her risk of getting affected with heart diseases even if she is diagnosed with a dreadful disease like breast cancer.
Stewart has advised both men and women to lead a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and a regular exercise regimen and without the habits of smoking and drinking.
