Don't use your teeth to open bottles or a bag of chips. This can cause the edge of a weakened tooth to chip off or even break.

This can even cause poor jaw alignment (malocclusion) by wearing down your teeth unevenly. Instead use real tools like scissors or bottle openers.

Avoid too hot or too cold foods as the temperature change can allow cracks to form or expand in teeth & permit stains to penetrate.

You should also avoid drinking or eating extremely hot or cold foods in quick succession. Extreme temperature changes cause teeth to expand and contract, which can heighten tooth sensitivity or damage your teeth as well.

If you are diabetic, get your teeth cleaned & checked by a dentist at least once every 6 months. Diabetics are much more prone to gum disease.

People with diabetes are more likely to have problems with their teeth and gums because of high blood glucose. If you have trouble chewing or any signs of dental disease, including a bad taste in your mouth, bad breath, bleeding, sore or swollen gums, or loose teeth, see your dentist right away.

Moreover, smoking causes unattractive problems like bad breath and stained teeth. It can also cause damage to your sense of taste.
