Health Tip for 27 July, '10

When carrying a handbag or a laptop bag on your shoulder, switch sides every 5 minutes to avoid shoulder and neck pain.

When you are carrying a heavy load on one side of your body, you will hike one shoulder to subconsciously guard against the weight, holding the other shoulder immobile. This results in the unnatural counterbalance movement of one shoulder. Even worse, this can restrict and compress the spinal joints, which then leads to headaches, arm pain, shoulder pain, back pain and neck pain.
