Take 5 minutes to calm yourself down by taking deep breaths before measuring your blood pressure. This avoids recording a higher number in the result.

When measuring your blood pressure, you need to be in a relaxed state of mind. Otherwise, you may artificially increase your systolic level (the higher number in your blood pressure reading) by up to 20 points.
