Health Tip for 17 October, '10

Quit smoking now. After 72 hours of quitting, your bronchial tubes begin to relax, breathing becomes easier & your body is virtually free of nicotine.

Bronchial tubes are the large, delicate tubes that carry air into the tiny branches and smaller cells of the lungs after this air has passed through the mouth and windpipe.

The first 72 hours are the absolute hardest. After 72 hours without a smoke, most withdrawals will have significantly decreased. While there are still traces of nicotine in your blood (nicotine, being water soluble, will be largely gone form our body), it has stopped affecting you after 72 hours.
