Owning a pet can help prevent heart diseases. Studies have shown that the simple stroking of a pet can lower heart rate & blood pressure.

This puts less pressure on your heart and reduces your chances of having a heart attack. A study conducted on a group of stockbrokers with high blood pressure found that stockbrokers who adopted a cat or dog had lower blood pressure and heart rates than those without pets. Furthermore, higher survival rates after a heart attack have been found in pet owners.
