In case of muscle cramp, gently stretch and massage the cramping muscle. Maintain the stretched position until the cramp stops.

Stretching can prevent or heal most of the cramps, whatever the cause may be - dehydration, muscle injury, vigorous exercise, repetitive movement or holding a position for a long period of time. A gentle massage of the affected muscle induces muscle relaxation and causes the cramp to subside.
