Health Tip for 05 January, '11

If you have diabetes, always wear well-cushioned shoes - that fit well and allow your toes to move - to protect your feet from injuries.

Diabetes interferes with the body's ability to heal, therefore, even the smallest foot wounds can become infected, spread to the bone, and lead to an amputation. Hence it is important to protect your feet by wearing shoes. Going barefoot can leave your feet vulnerable to cuts, puncture wounds, and splinters.
