For protecting your teeth, rinse your mouth with water after you drink wine. Eat some cheese with your drink to balance out the wine's acidity.

White wine, and to some extent red wine, can wear away the tooth enamel because of its high acidity. On the other hand, red wine, and to some extent white wine, can stain your teeth.
