Health Tip for 13 October, '10

Eat lots of fruits & vegetables rich in antioxidants to help protect your lungs & heart from the ill effects of pollution-induced free radical damage.

Fruit and vegetables are wonderful natural sources of antioxidants such as beta carotene(carrots, cabbage, melon, tomatoes, papayas, sweet potatoes), selenium (tuna, oysters, cottage cheese, cabbage, chicken, eggs, garlic, mushrooms), vitamins C (citrus fruits, strawberries, green leafy vegetables, tomatoes) and vitamin E (whole grains). Antioxidants render free radicals harmless by neutralizing them.
