Health Tip for 24 November, '10

Drink green tea as it helps lower your risk of heart disease by improving the health of the cells lining the blood vessels.

Endothelial cell (delicate cells lining the blood vessels) dysfunction plays a key role in the development of clogged arteries. Powerful antioxidants called flavonoids are behind this benefit of green tea. Researchers found that people who drink green tea experience significantly increased artery widening (dilation) - a sign of better blood vessel function, with the highest increase noted at 30 minutes after drinking green tea.
