Before starting your workout session in gym, do a proper warm up (example: walking on the treadmill) for 5-10 minutes to avoid injuries.

A proper warm up raises your body temperature and increase blood flow to loosen your muscles to make them more flexible. This also helps in avoiding injuries. Also, do not forget to stretch the muscles you intend to exercise in your workout session.
