Health Tip for 03 October, '10

Avoid eating too much protein daily as it can cause mental confusion (hepatic encephalopathy) by overwhelming the liver.

This occurs when the amount of dietary protein is greater than the liver's ability to use the protein. This can cause a build up of toxins that can interfere with brain function. However, researchers still debate regarding the type of protein a diet should contain. Some believe vegetable and dairy protein may be tolerated better than meat protein.
