
Chromium is a chemical element which has the symbol Cr. Chromium is important in the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates. Chromium is important for brain function and other body processes as well. It is an activator of several enzymes, which are needed to drive numerous chemical reactions necessary to life.
Good sources of chromium include apples, bananas, green peppers, spinach and wheat germ. Other sources include beef, liver, eggs, chicken and oysters. Black pepper, butter, and molasses are also good sources of chromium, but they are normally consumed only in small amounts.
