    Hi Deepa,

Weight gain during menstruationis very common among more or less every women the reason for that are:
1.Due to change in Metabolism of the body.
2.Craving of chocolate or some food during or before Menstruation.
3.Water retention is also one of the major cause for this.
Hope this information will be beneficial for you.

    Hi Deepa,

I've heard tat women gain some weight during menstruation because the body begins to retain water.I would say about a 1/2 lb or 1 lb during periods. Through my personel experience, i feel i have a great craving for choclates and feel like munching a snack often.

    Regards

It is completely normal. It happens due to water retention. You feel bloating in your stomach. Dont you?

yes it is true that u gain anywhere from 2-5 pounds of weight during periods or just before . The reason is bloting and water retention. However its just temporary
and it will go away after the periods and u will weigh back normal. However u
    should drink plenty of water

I agree, weight in crease during our menstrual cycle. This is because of the temporary water retention accumulated in the kidney.
