Hi Nivedita,
Yes it is hard bt if you r doing the right things than winter will instead help u in losing weight.
beacause of the cold wether, the body stuggles to increase its temperature (auto immune response)hence raising the BMR from usual. which is what the body exactly needs to lose weight, but the tough thing is that .. as the BMR rises so does our appetite ... n it seems hard to resist the warmth of a samosa or a garam jallebi ... and we r left with increased weight by the end of the season.what we dont understand is if we excersise just a little or just take a routine walk or do yoga or climb stairs even in the cozyness of our home or just buy a skipping rope n skip for 15 min 2 times a day, the BMR will rise even higher leading to weight loss.. and the hunger pangs can be well taken care of by hot and nutritious variety of soups .. or even green tea..Eat five to six small meals each day to cut down on food cravings and overeating. What you need to do is just try to keep to your routine as much as possible and not let Winter drag you down. Picking foods that tie in with the Holiday Season but are low in fat and fairly healthy,(
