    Hold on to your horses for a second! Yoga is followed to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so don't practice yoga like some generic exercise and drop it once you're lost weight. The long term effects and benefits of yoga are too many. In order to lose weight through yoga, you'll have to follow yoga every single day without fail. You should not perform the asanas (postures) in a random manner, as that will not help you. Seek the help of a trained expert and do it systematically, so that your damaged tissues and muscles are rectified and you infuse some freshness into your system.

    Hi Nishthha,
    I feel yoga is not much effective in losing weight better go for aerobic exercises in combination of diet and active lifestyle. Once you achieve your desired weight loss you can go for Yoga. Reason behind this is, to lose weight you need to burn more calories, yoga burns comparatively less calories than aerobic exercises and more over most of the yoga focuses on postures and flexibility.

    Hey Nishtha,
    Yoga is a good and better options for all age group. Even there is hot yoga which is useful for both weight loss and removing toxins. Give a try to it. You need to do the yoga postures in hot climate may be under sun. The principle is to sweat you and thus removes harmful toxins from body.
