Lose fat first then gain muscle! That is the norm. If you try to gain muscle when you are still fat then you will look ridiculous.
Step 1: Lose as much fat as possible through a proper diet and exercise program. This will take around 6 months or so. Ideally you should target to lose around 2 kilos a month.
Step 2: Once you are slimmer join a gym and start pumping iron. Start slow and graduate as time goes on. You will build good muscle mass in two or three months. At the same time continue high protein diet as well.

    Hi Garima,
To loose fat and gain muscle mass, you need to have a balanced programme of healthy diet and regular exercises. Do 45 min of cardio activities like brisk walking, jogging, running , etc while include alternate days of hard core weight training exercises to build muscle mass. Cardio activities would help to normalize down your body fat percentage while weight training exercises would help to increase the muscle mass. Also, avoid junk food items and late night dinners as our metabolism slows down during night.
