Tough one to answer. Though the general feeling is that chapati is a better option for weight loss, both have high carbohydrate content. In case of chapatis, they are low in fat and high in fiber. If soya, oat or corn flour is mixed with wheat flour, it becomes rich in protein and fiber and helps in weight loss. In case of rice, white rice is low in fiber. This, combined with its high carbohydrate content, leads to weight gain. So, brown rice is a healthier option. So, brown rice and multigrain chapati – both are equally helpful in weight loss. Eating in moderation is the key.

    @ Neha.

Ruchi it is easy to answer because rice contains more of carbs & high calories when compared to roti. Even roti is also be in healthy cooking style not with more of oil or ghee. When you take whole wheat roti is more healthy & good for weight loss. Rice is not advisable but very small amount is ok not in dinner times.
