    @soumya,

    hi, for an effective weight loss , its best to combine diet and exercise. as the weight loss rate in hypothyroidism is slower,thn usual. but dun worry at all... if you are on medications, please be regular, and try maintain ur hormones near normal value. this will facilitate the effect of diet and exercise both.

    I agree with Payal.
    Hypothyroidism slows down everything in body systems right down to cells, to process carbohydrates and to absorb blood sugar in the body.
    Hence, carbohydrates one could eat pre-thyroid problems may be too much for the systems to handle during thyroid imbalance.
    Also different studies have shown that aerobic exercise greatly affects the level of circulating thyroid hormones.
    Hence a proper guidance about diet along with exercise is needed to get rid of extra kilos gained during thyroid problem.

    hi soumya, if u r on medications, plz remember to take them first thing in the morning, thts the key to keep ur hormones near normal , exercise also stimulates thyroid gland for better secretions of its hormones.. so do tht as many times a week as possible. warm water and lemon also keeps thyroid stimulated. so twice in a day is gud. besides these , you also need to avoid some goitrogenic foods like cabbage, broccoli, spinach, turnips, soyabean. and restrict your salt intake a little, to avoid qater retention. by following these guidelines im sure you ll be able to manage your weight and thyroidism.
