Using measuring tape is an another method to check the progress of your weight loss program, in which you measure the circumference of the different areas of the body.Instead of measuring weight loss in kilograms or pounds, measuring tape will measure your inch loss. The major sites to measure circumference are:arm, chest, abdominals, waist, thigh, hips and calf.Recent studies have proved that neck circumference is also a good indicator of obesity. The advantages of this method are that it is quick, easy and feasible to use, does not require any equipment except a measuring tape, the waist to hip ratio can be calculated which is a good indicator of central obesity.Disadvantages can be counted as the accuracy of measurement depends on the measurer's skill.
