Excess stomach acid or acidosis can be caused by what we eat and drink. If you have too much acid in your body, you can become ill or become susceptible to many conditions or diseases. Stomach acidity can be reduced by following these tips:
    *Maintain a healthy diet.
    *Drink plenty of fluids.
*Drink citrus juice. Although citrus juices have their own share of acid, the juices will aid in digestion and make you healthier and actually reduce some of the body acid.
*Take rest as needed. With rest, your body is able to regenerate, and it enhances digestion and the processing of acid.
    *Take antacids.
*Avoid excess salt, oil, pickles, curd, fried food, sour foods like tamarind and consume more salads and legumes.
*After eating, an upright posture should be maintained for some time.
*Dinner should be taken at least three hours before going to bed and bedtime snacks must be avoided.
*Milk acts as an excellent remedy in acidity.
*Excess intake of sweets also can cause acidity as sugar causes fermentation and produces acid in stomach.
