    In hypothyroidism people usually tend to gain weight because the basal metabolic rate (BMR) decreases.and usually the weight loss process is very slow.So for that it is very necessary to do something which increases metabolism and help you in weight loss.Here are some tips given below which will help you in reducing your weight-
    1. First of all it is very necessary to be on thyroid medication as prescribed by doctor.It is better take consultation in the initial stages only and also check your thyroid levels on regular basis
    2. Take short and frequent meals which will help you in increasing metabolism and you will not tend to eat more in your next following meal.Drink plenty of water.You can also have green tea which helps to increase metabolism.
    3. Take a low carbohydrates and diet which has low glycemic index.Avoid starchy foods like bread,rice,pasta and also avoid refined cereals like maida and suji.You can have diet rich in complex carbohydrates and high fiber like fruits and vegetables..there are some fruits and vegetables which has to be avoided like broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, spinach, turnips, soybeans, peanuts, linseed, pine nuts, millet, cassava, and mustard greens as they have goitrogenic effect.
    4.Diet should be low in fat.Avoid fried,Junked,Canned and processed food.
    5. And last but very important is to exercise daily for 30-40 minutes which helps in increasing metabolism and losing weight.

    Make sure that the following foods should be included in ur diet:

    Sea foods & iodine rich foods: Iodine is needed to produce thyroid hormone. Foods that are high in iodine are sea foods & salt water fish. Small amount of iodine is found in banana & parsley. You must use only iodized salt instead of plain salt for cooking.

    You should drink plenty of water in a day , atleast 3-4 liters in a Day. Especially drink warm water with lemon in the morning.

    Fiber is more important to you to maintain ur weight. Fiber makes you feel full so it lessens your intake & maintain the weight. Regular intake of fibers foods promotes ur bowl movements properly & lowers the cholesterol level in the blood. It is more beneficial for hypothyroidism with weight loss.
    Green tea is one more best drink to increase ur metabolism & digestion. Drink 2 cups of green tea in a day which burns the calories very fast & helpful in weight loss.

    Maintain ur thyroid production also by including tyrosine rich foods & selenium rich foods.

    Examples of tyrosine foods are meats (limited), fish, lentils, low fat milk & milk products.
    Examples of selenium foods are tuna, brown rice, brazil nuts & salmon.

    Make sure the oil consumption in ur diet- coconut oil is one of best for cooking & it stimulates the production of thyroid hormone but use limited amount.

    Try to increase ur work out for 60-75mins in a day. Not only exercise is
    important, Keep ur-self very activity.
