the most important thing is aiming for a practicle and a healthy goal ... i.e. 2-3 kgs in a month ... this is healthy .. if you chose to go on crash diets , or even are on fasting diets to lose 5 - 7 kg in a month , this is completely unhealthy. you will never be able to maintain this kind of weight. it is important to choose food wisely. include a good variety and quantity of fruits and veggies. also make a mental note to find info if you have any medical condition, there may be some food items which would not suit you for the purpose. for example , when you hear lemon water helps in weight loss, dont start taking it if you are suffering from acute cold / cough episode. cut your toytal fat int6ake and stick to a maximum of 4tsp fat in a day.

In order to lose weight in a healthy way, your weight loss program should always be gradual in nature. The most effective and healthy approach is multidirectional approach where you equally focus on low caloric diet, regular exercises and active lifestyle.

Really good points rahul, IN addition- Avoid fasting without foods , go for juice fasting or fruit fasting. Drink plenty of water daily 2-3liter in a day. In non veg- you can take grilled form , steamed or boiled but not too much of water. Choose always healthy snacks.
