Amount of calories burned during cycling depends on various factors like your speed, duration, level at which you are cycling like downhill, uphill etc., your body weight, gender, etc. On an average a person weighing 68kgs cycling with speed of 10km/hr will burn 174calories per hour. You can estimate your calorie expenditure during cycling by monitoring your heart rate because your heart rate fairly correlates with the energy expenditure rate.

    Hi Adam,
Loosing weight at home is easier by doing more of calisthenic exercises like jogging, cardio exercises and weight training exercises. Cardio exercises are more useful for reducing your body fat percentage while weight training exercises helps to tone your body muscle. Cardio exercises are like running, jogging, brisk walking, skipping, swimming, etc. We need to do these exercises atleast for 45 min and weight trainign exercises done at home can be like push ups, lunges, squats, chin ups, etc. We need to do atleast these exercises for 15 min every alternate days for better results.
