A total commitment to a fitness program along with a healthy diet is absolutely important if you plan to lose weight and gain muscle. Muscles already exist and fat covers them. Get those calories burning to rid fat and allow muscles to build up and you will start losing weight faster. Eating 6 to7 meals a day works better and your meals should contain more of protein rich foods like poultry, fish, egg whites, and low fat dairy foods. Every meal should include 50% Carbs, 40% protein, and 10 % of good fats. Whole grains, vegetables fruits will provide the carbs, and healthy fats are found in olive oil, Omega 3, flaxseed oil, and nuts. Eating every three hours improves metabolism rate leading to burning of calories. Strength training, resistance training and cardio exercises will help to build muscles. A combination of eating right and a good fitness regime will help you lose weight and gain muscle. Eat within an hour of your training.
