Hi All.i had gained lot of weight after 2 months bed rest due to a fracture in by lower back (L1 vertebra).Plz anyone suggest what should i do to shed the excess weight
@sankalp Include oats, wheat bran and ragi which are high in fiber content which helps in weight loss. Have light dinners like dalia, brown bread sandwich etc. Increase your water and fruits intake as it will boost up your metabolism.Have lemon water early in the morning.Have small and frequent small meals.
@Sankalp weight gain due to any fracture or ortho problem is little difficult to loose quickly as there is little restriction of exercises, so the only way to loose weight is to modify your diet. Eat a well balanced food with more of raw vegetables & fruits in the diet. Have frequent small meals. Opt for drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily. In addition to providing hydration to your body, it will also help you feel full.

Hi sankalp,to reduce weight after bed rest is a bit difficult but not impossible.i dont know which kind of surgery have u undergone.like if it is stable u can first start with sthrenthening your back muscles first and even you need to do all exercises in presence of some expert like physiotherapist.he/she ll teach you proper positions and posture to maintain while exercising .u need to confirm with your doctor before starting with any exercise regime.
