Gaining weight does not mean that you can eat just about anything you like. Unrestricted and unwise eating will increase your weight, but in terms of your body fat percentage. The more healthy option is to increase your body weight by increasing the lean mass in your body. The trick to doing this is to increase your calorie intake just enough so that your body converts the excess into mass and not fat. Be sure to eat nutritiously and to include all food groups in your diet. It is also important to eat more frequently as well as to eat even if you do not feel hungry. In fact, you should be having at least 5 to 6 small meals a day. Go in for weight training and reduce the cardios.

    Hi Mansi,
I agree with Nishthha. You need to improve your weight training exercises. Weight training exercises like lunges, squats, rowing, push ups, pull up etc would help to improve your lean muscle mass.

Most people have lots of butter and Ghee inorder to gain weight. Instead you can gain weight by eating healthy like high protein diet like eggs, milk and milk products, fish and chicken. Also exercise do play a important role.
