    Eating less than your normal appetite will not just solve the problem of weight.You have to choose the right kinds of foods and eat them in right proportions and at the right time.Eating less food and getting starved may further lead to weight gain.As starvation itself reduces the metabolic rate and reduces ones ability to loose weight naturally.So eating appropriate amount of food but lesser in calories is the key to weight loss.

    Eating less is healthy way of weight loss but choose healthy option & eat well. For example salad, whole grins, low calories diet are very good for weight loss.

    I do agree that in terms of weight loss, you need to control the portion size, but you need to figure out what actually you are eating. Eating low calories food in less quantity will make you feel hungry for often. Instead, have whole grain fiber as in whole wheat bread, or chapatti etc with lots of vegetables. And also do have fruits, sprouts and salad as in between snacks.
