    The main determinant of body weight is caloric balance.It refers to the difference between the caloric intake and caloric expenditure.The body weight will lost if caloric expenditure exceeds caloric intake.The amount of exercise to be done depends on the weight loss required.The weight loss should be gradual and the maximum weight to be lose is 1 kg/week.Aerobic exercises are efficient as they involves high rate of energy expenditure.1 kg of body weight equals 7700 kcals.

    You should at least 1 hr in exercise for weight loss and that should be in regularity.

    Hi Ruchi,
    As lifemojo expert said, the main determinant of body weight is caloric balance. So only exercise may not give you the desired result. Look into your diet and lifestyle also. As far as exercises part is concerned it depends on how much weight you want to lose. If you have achieved your desired weight then you need to go for maintenance phase.

    Hey Ruchi,
    Exercising duration totally differs form person to person with their calorie intake. The more amount of calories you take, the more amount of calories you have to burn. So in turn you need to exercise for long time.

    Just wanted to say I started working out 45 minutes a day three times a week with a personal trainer. Accordingly, I have lost about 4-5 pounds in a two week period. Have a calorie limitation also.
