does fasting one day in a whole week do any good?

I eat a 1400 cal diet everyday iam 138 pounds aiming at 120 doing it very gradually one pound a week with diet and exercise combined. I want to shoot for loosing 2 pounds a week versus my one pound a week current regime. I waas wonder if we can fast for a day with only fruit diet one day of the week so that we get better results ?. Also i do 3-4 days of exercise. please let me know ur thoughts

    hi,

    its OK to follow a fruit diet once in a week .. but you will have to maintain your eating timings .. don starve yourself .. eat in every 2-3 hrs .. and have lots of citrus fruits on this day ... it will also give a break to your digestive system .. also have plenty of liquids on this day .. in terms of water, fruit juices , veg juices and soups(without cream)

    I agree with payal, Drink plenty of water 3-4 liter . Fasting will help you to remove your toxin from your body but you should maintain your metabolism by taking the foods in time. Increase your exercise to 5-6 days & 30-45 mins in a day. After fast also you should maintain your metabolism then only you will lose & get good result. Include plenty high fiber foods & fat burns foods like fruits , vegetables, whole grains, green leafy. Green tea will improves your metabolism.
